Explaining the Broadcast. ~Umberto Nongeroson 9.Dec.03 08:28 PM a Web browser Notes Client All ReleasesWindows XP
I can explain the Broadcast, because we use it, but I don't think I can explain the other issue.
Broadcast is a type of standard that will alert the user to information but not let them act on it. We use the Broadcast tag in Notes when sending it information from browser applications. It allows the receiver to add an entry to his or her own calendar. It also lets the user know that changes to that new entry will not be automatically updated when the original changes.
There is a field that you can remove that allows responding, etc. to the calendar request. But if the original is an application, it may not do a whole lot of good. I think it is more of a precaution than to reduce functionality.
